Good Things – #10

We’ve finally reached TEN Good Things! Yeeeeeeah! Let’s party!!!

GOOD SCRIPTURE

In the fear of the Lord there is strong confidence,

And His children will have a place of refuge.

The fear of the Lord is a fountain of life,

To turn one away from the snares of death.

Proverbs 14:26-27

GOOD PHOTO

A volcano in Indonesia erupts blue lava and noxious gases (because of some combination of elements…and science). Dangerous things can also be some of the most beautiful things. So, be careful out there guys and gals! Use wisdom in your decision-making before you end up…burned.

GOOD SONGS

Jonathan David Helser has been on my “really need to check him out” list for a while. I’ve heard his music recommended by a good number of people and finally I heard this number, “Mt Zion.” I can’t even tell you how I found this song, because I have no recollection of how I stumbled upon this video/song. Thank God for the Holy Spirit and technology, eh? This song is from one of my *favorite* passages (Hebrews 12:22-24). It blessed me, and made me feel like a part of “O Brother Where Art Thou” at the same time.

Those who know me, know that I have a strong fascination for songs in other languages…especially languages that I do not know. I look up lyrics, find a translating dictionary, and then perp like a Native by singing along. It’s one of the many perks and quirks of Robin. Lately, I have been digging Joyous Celebration, a South African based choir. As a choir director, I loooooooooove their presentation – vocals, energy, clothing, arrangements, instrumentation, etc. They’re so fabulous, I could cry! The good thing is, there is a website available with the lyrics and English translations – now you can be just as international as me!

GOOD BOOK

My Uncle Rick would always say, “Ain’t but one Spirit,” when God would confirm something through another Believer. While reading this, I had to say the same thing. Andrew Murray wrote this book over  100 years ago in South Africa, yet it is so relevant to me today. I encourage everyone to read it, even if you don’t feel like you’re called to be an “official” intercessor. “A Plea for More Prayer”  will convict and encourage you at the same time. Click the picture, and download it on Kindle (or on your smart phone, or on your computer). Oh, did I mention that it’s FREE?! All the more reason to check it out!

GOOD MINISTRY

I don’t think I can say enough good things about Hope City House of Prayer (Columbus, OH). We took a youth trip up there recently and God blessed us immensely with His presence. It’s hard to describe…you just had to be there. Hope City plans to move, debt-free, to another location, and we can help them do just that. If you click the picture, it will take you to their donation page where you can give as the Lord leads you to give. You can also listen to some of their sermons (minor navigation once you click the picture). They are doing a great work, and with our support, they can continue the great work without financial distractions.
